A Few Useful Links for exPats

For those of us living and doing business in Panamá or who may be contemplating moving to Panamá either to retire or to invest, here are some sites that can provide some information and insights that should be helpful.

  • For thousands of articles in English about Panamá check out Panama-guide.com The publisher reports on events of interest and often provides translations in ‘Readers Digest’ style versions of articles from the local Spanish language newspapers. It is updated daily.

  • For an independent analysis of the people moving into Panamá and some business opportunities check out Panama Wave.com.  They have access to a detailed database of informative statistics and professional analysis that should be of interest to anyone considering living or investing in Panama.

  • For those exPats already living ‘off shore’ who just have simple tax returns and don’t need or want to pay a CPA to help them, but need forms or instructions, you can get any form online in a download from the IRS site. All you need is the free Adobe software on your computer. You can fill in the forms and print them out and then mail them.

  • For those who are seriously planning to move to Panamá, check out the logistics operator at Pakya.com. The Panamá ops owner has over 20 years experience in logistics management and can help you figure out what to bring, what to leave behind and what it will all cost to transfer your household goods, cars and other important things to Panamá.

  • For those who are interested in what the weather is like right now in Panama, check out Intellicast.com site. It has up to the minute weather and ten and 30 day forecasts, colorful maps and access is free.
